Brian,
What is the guitar and amp setup you are using on the Kix Live
album? I am assuming you are the guitar on the right side? It
sounds like your tele. What is the pickup in it? It's an
awesome sound! I just got into tele's and I can't find a
decent bridge pickup, any suggestions besides the Joe Barden,
they are not available any more.
Thanks man.

Nick,
Back then I was using my 1960 Gibson Melody Maker through a Mesa Boogie MK IIC head through a 4X12 cabinet with 200 watt EV speakers. The Melody Maker has the two humbukers out of Ronnie's 1971 Les Paul Custom with the coil split on the treble pickup. I didn't get into playing Tele's live until after Kix. I did a couple of guitar changes during that set so from what I can remember I probably used my 1990 335 on "Same Jane", my PRS Custom on "Tear Down The Walls", and my Roland 707 Synth guitar on "Don't Close Your Eyes". Oh yeah and my Yamaha acoustic on "For Shame".
As far as Tele pickups go... if you can't get Joe Barden's I would stick to the stock Fender pickups. One of my Tele's is stock and you can't beat the tone of a stock Tele. Tone wise it blows the Joe Barden's away. Don't get me wrong the Joe Barden's are great! The only reason I went with the Joe Barden's in my '71 Tele is because it didn't have the original pickups in it when I bought it and the Joe Barden's are the only good sounding replacement pickups as far as I'm concerned.
